How to Calibrate Your ZEN53 DC Motor Controller
1. Automatic Calibration
Use this method for motors with limit switches.
- Click the Z-Wave button 6 times quickly to enter calibration mode (or set parameter 5 to value 1 for shutter mode or value 2 for Venetian mode, add to hub first).
- The device will start calibrating while blinking green. The process takes around 10 seconds.
- The motor will start opening the blinds until it reaches the limit and the blind is fully open. It will then reverse operation and start closing the blind until it reaches the closed limit.
- The calibration process is now complete. The device has calculated the total time it needs to fully open or close your blinds or shutters. It will use this data to execute open and close commands. If you need to make any adjustments manually, you can enter the new values in parameters 3 and 4 in the advanced settings.
2. Manual Calibration
Manually triggering the automatic calibration for the specific curtains with rails with no end-limits via the Z-Wave button.
- To manually trigger the automatic calibration of the rail curtains please click the Z-Wave button on ZEN53 six times quickly.
- The rail curtain motor will be running for automatic calibration
- When the motor runs to one end of the rail, it will detect a stop and will run in the opposite direction
- The motor now runs to the other end of the rail and detects another stop. The motor will stop.
- Calibration is now finished.
NOTE: The automatic calibration is only applicable for motor curtains with rails, which can fail to stop the motor when it runs to the end. Please always check if your curtains motor needs calibration, or if already have ends limits built-in.
