Is your ZAC38 Range Extender showing offline in SmartThings? You'll want to start by ruling out any possible range or connectivity issues. Check out the quick troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue.

The best place to start is with refreshing your mesh network connections via a network repair. Remember, it is up to the hub to create the route of communication with each device and ensure a strong mesh:

  1. Open your SmartThings app and locate your SmartThings hub under Devices. Tap the hub to see the device details.
  2. Tap the three dots in the upper right hand corner and tap Settings

  3. Tap Z-Wave Utilities
  4. Tap Repair Z-Wave Network
  5. Tap Start Repair

Before you send any commands to your ZAC38 Range Extender, please wait until you see the "Z-Wave Network Repair finished" message - this can take up to 15 minutes. Once the network repair is finished, try adding the ZAC38 back into your network.

If you're still having connectivity issues after the Network Repair, try excluding and re-including the Range Extender directly from its installation location. This ensures that SmartThings can create the most efficient route of communication with the plug, in case it wasn't established correctly the first time.

Still experiencing connectivity issues? Try including the ZAC38 Range Extender in a location closer to the hub. This allows you to determine if the issue is range or an interference disrupting the signal between the hub and device. Once you've moved the device, remember to exclude and re-include it to give it a chance to connect properly.

If the device is still showing offline after completing the troubleshooting steps above, please don't hesitate to reach out! We'll be happy to help!
