This guide will walk you through a sample of the basic setup process for your Zooz ZST39 800LR Stick with Home Assistant's Z-Wave JS integration. Our goal is to help you get started quickly and easily so you can begin building your Z-Wave network.

These instructions cover a basic setup to help you get started. If you encounter hardware-related issues with your Z-Wave stick, our Zooz support team is here to assist you. However, integration and software configuration within Home Assistant or other automation platforms fall outside the scope of our support.

What We Can Assist With

✅ Verifying Stick Functionality – Ensuring your stick is recognized on your computer or with PC Controller software from Silicon Labs.
✅ Troubleshooting Basic Hardware Issues – Addressing defects or malfunctions related to the Z-Wave stick itself.

What Falls Outside Our Support Scope

❌ Software Setup & Integration – Issues related to anything beyond what is provided below, Home Assistant, Z-Wave JS, or other home automation platforms.
❌ Custom Configurations & New Installations – Advanced settings or third-party software conflicts.

If your Z-Wave stick is detected by your computer or PC Controller software, this confirms that the hardware is working correctly. Any further setup or troubleshooting within Home Assistant should be directed to their official community and documentation, which offer extensive resources and peer support.

Home Assistant’s open-source nature means that support is provided by the community rather than a professional customer service team. Here are some resources recommended by Home Assistant to help you troubleshoot and report issues with your system:

  • Community Forums: A wealth of user-generated advice and troubleshooting tips.
  • Documentation: Covers beginner to advanced topics around the installation, setup, configuration, and usage of Home Assistant.
  • GitHub: A platform for reporting issues and finding software updates.
  • Discord: Real-time support from the developers and the user community.

For those new to Home Assistant, diving into these resources is crucial. The platform’s complexity can be overwhelming, but for experienced users, it offers unparalleled flexibility and control, empowering them to create deeply customized automations and integrate devices across multiple ecosystems seamlessly.
