No matter what you try, you can't get your Outdoor Motion Sensor out of test mode and it keeps flashing red when motion is detected. Here are a few tips to help:
- Move both motion timer and lux trigger dials to the right away from the T mark. Sometimes one of them will still be too close to the test mode for the sensor to enter normal mode. Changing the motion timer and lux settings on your hub is not enough to get out of test mode, the dials need to be physically turned away from the T mark even if you decide to program these settings using your Z-Wave system.
- Make sure that the sensor is attached to the mounting bracket firmly and the tamper switch is depressed.
- Try fresh batteries. A sensor flashing red when motion is detected may be a sign of low power.
- If the sensor is powered by USB instead of batteries, please check if you're on firmware 2.0 or lower. If that's the case and you recently unplugged the sensor or if it lost power, then it automatically went back to test mode. You'll need open the bracket to release the tamper switch and re-attach it for the sensor to go back to normal mode. This behavior will not occur if your sensor is on firmware 2.01 or higher.
