How to Access Advanced Settings for My ZSE41 Open | Close XS Sensor on Hubitat

Hubitat will recognize your ZSE41 Sensor out of the box!

If the settings are not showing up for you right away, you'll want to confirm your Hubitat hub is on the latest platform version. The ZSE41 is in a beta release so there may also be a firmware update available for the device in the near future. Once updated, add the ZSE41 again and you should be able to see the settings under Preferences in Hubitat (remember to save the device after each change).

If you'd like to adjust a setting that isn't exposed in the built-in driver, you can try using the custom driver for the ZSE41 to customize your XS Open|Close Sensor.

Here are the steps for using the custom driver:

  1. Open Hubitat in your browser.

  2. Click on Drivers Code in the side menu.

  3. In the top right corner, click on "+New Driver" and paste the code from the following link to access the code for the driver, then copy ALL of the code from the page.

  4. Click Save in the top right corner.

  5. You'll see a Zooz ZSE41 OPEN CLOSE XS SENSOR in your Drivers Code list now.

  6. Assign the driver to the device by opening to the device view and selecting the Zooz ZSE41 OPEN CLOSE XS SENSOR from the drop-down menu under Device Type.

  7. Click Update Device

  8. IMPORTANT: Click the CONFIGURE button in the interface for all of the settings to appear and wake the device up by clicking the Z-Wave button 4 times quickly so it can fully configure. You may need to refresh the Hubitat page in your Internet browser as well.
  9. You will now see the additional setting display in the device view in Hubitat where you can customize the sensor.

  10. Once done changing parameters, click Update Device again and manually wake the sensor to receive the changes.

If you prefer not to use the custom driver, you can try out this Z-Wave Universal Device Scanner to access any parameters that may not be available yet in the custom driver. Please note that use of this driver is intended for expert users; use at your own risk: https://community.hubitat.com/t/release-z-wave-universal-device-scanner/97912
