The ZSE11 Q Sensor can be powered by 2 CR 123A batteries (included) OR a micro-USB cable (sold separately).
The sensor can only be powered by a single power source. If it's powered by both USB and battery, it may damage it and it could not work on battery reliably afterwards.
Once the batteries or USB cable are inserted, the ZSE11 Q Sensor's LED indicator should flash any time you press the Z-Wave button.
If you insert the batteries and see no LED activity whatsoever, first check that the batteries are inserted and oriented properly. It may just take this small adjustment to get the sensor up and running.
If you utilize the USB and the LED is unresponsive, ensure the cable is plugged fully into the socket.
If you find the sensor is still unresponsive after double checking the battery, please try the device with a fresh battery if you have one on hand. If the device works fine with a new battery, the issue was probably caused by a drained battery.
If the sensor is powered by USB and unresponsive, please try inserting 2 CR123A batteries. If the sensor becomes responsive, there may be an issue with the USB cable.
If the sensor shows some LED activity but is unresponsive in other ways - maybe you're unable to wake it up, include, or exclude it from your system- you may need to try a factory reset, which is a hard reset that will erase all previous activity and custom rules from the device. Here's how to reset the ZSE11 Q Sensor.
If the sensor is still unresponsive after trying the suggestions above, please let us know! Our team will be happy to help.
