There is No LED Activity and My ZEN54 0-10V Dimmer is Unresponsive

Got the ZEN54 0-10V Dimmer installed, but there is no LED activity, and the device is unresponsive? Please ensure you verify all the details below:

 

  • Start by ensuring you have restored power to the unit at the breaker panel, following the completion of the installation.
  • Make sure your fixture uses a 0-10 V dimming driver which doesn't exceed 4 Amps. Check your wiring first to confirm that you have all the following wires present in your electrical box: both 0-10 V driver connections, power, neutral, and load connection to power the LED driver, as well as a connection to a wall switch.
  • Ensure the device is connected to the proper 120V power source.
  • Make sure the gang box you are about to install the switch has power with neutral wire available - you will not be able to get the ZEN54 Dimmer to work without a neutral wire.
  • Unlike regular mechanical switches, Z-Wave switches require all of the wires to be connected exactly as indicated - line and load wires can never be swapped as it sometimes happens to the most experienced electricians.
  • Next, check the load. Ensure the load for the relay does not exceed 4 A, 960 W. 
  • CHECK THE WIRES: ensure the device is wired exactly like the diagram, and don't rely exclusively on your multimeter to identify the wires.
