Inclusion is quick and easy with the Z-Box Hub. The ZAC38 Range Extender is fully supported by the Z-Box and will be recognized out of the box.

We recommend adding your Z-Wave devices to your Z-Box Hub from the WEB UI, but for your convenience, we also created instructions for the mobile app below, just scroll down.

ADD THE ZAC38 RANGE EXTENDER FROM THE WEB UI:

1. Open your Z-Box web interface in the Internet browser and select Settings (the gear icon) from the sidebar navigation menu.

2. The screen will display all of your existing devices.

3. Click on the + Add device blue button in the top right corner.

4. Select Z-Wave Device in the next screen.

5. Make sure you can physically access your ZAC38 Range Extender and click Start on the screen.

6. While the hub is in inclusion mode, tap the button on the side of the ZAC38 Range Extender 3 times as quickly as possible. The LED indicator will start blinking green to confirm the inclusion mode, and stay green for two seconds to confirm inclusion. It may take a few minutes for the device to add and configure so please wait patiently and don't exit the screen.

7. Once the device is found, you'll be able to rename it and assign it to its room.

8. Click Next and then Finish once you rename and organize the device.

ADD THE ZAC38 RANGE EXTENDER FROM THE Z-BOX MOBILE APP:

1. Open the Z-Box Hub app on your mobile device.

2. Click More in the bottom navigation menu.

3. Click on + Add Devices.

4. Select the Z-Wave Protocol.

5. Make sure you can physically access your ZAC38 Range Extender and click Start on the screen.

6. While the hub is in inclusion mode, tap the button on the ZAC38 plug 3 times as quickly as possible. The LED indicator will start blinking green to indicate inclusion mode, and turn green for 2 seconds to confirm successful inclusion. It may take a few minutes for the device to add and configure so please wait patiently and don't exit the screen.

7. Once the device is found, you'll be able to rename it and assign it to its room.

8. Click Next and then Finish once you rename and organize the device.

* If you’re using an S2 hub, it will ask you to enter the DSK PIN or scan the QR code printed on the plug.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

If your Range Extender is not found on the Z-Box Hub, you may need to soft reset it first. We recommend performing the reset using your hub and the exclusion option (it works even if the device has never been added to your hub before):

1. Open your Z-Box web interface in the Internet browser and select Settings (the gear icon) from the sidebar navigation menu. A list of your existing devices will appear.

2. Click the red - Remove device button in the top right corner.

3. Select Z-Wave Device in the next screen.

4. Make sure you can physically access your ZAC38 Range Extender and click Start on the screen.

5. Tap the button on the side of the ZAC38 3 times as quickly as possible. The LED indicator will start blinking and the Z-Box Hub will display a "Device removed" message.

If the LED indicator on the device isn't blinking, make sure that the device is powered by clicking the button once, and then again (it should turn the LED indicator on and off as well with a single tap). If it works well physically from the button, try a factory reset on the device, and then try the inclusion steps above once more.
