Check out our ZEN37 Wall Remote accessory recommendations below:
The ZEN37 is the perfect add-on switch to put in an existing switch box or install on any flat surface, no wiring required! If you're installing the Wall Remote on a flat surface where there isn't an existing switch box, you could add a Screwless Decorator Rocker Style Wall Plate to the set-up, for a flawless, clean look. The white shade of the wall plate will match all Zooz switches, including the ZEN37.
Installation details: No wiring requirements or diagrams for this one! Just open the remote with the supplied triangle tool and remove the pull-tabs from the battery slots to power the device up. Add the device to your hub and mount the base in a standard switch box or on any flat surface using the supplied screw or adhesive tape. Complete the installation by fixing the wall plate to the magnetic base of the Wall Remote.
Connectivity Issues? The ZEN37 is powered by 1 x LIR2032 rechargeable battery, so it will not act as a Z-Wave signal repeater like other Zooz switches. It is indoor rated only, operates in temperatures of 32-104° F (0-40° C) and has a range of up to 250 feet line of sight (and up to 1300 feet once hub support for Z-Wave Long Range is available).
The best Z-Wave smart home networks have lots of signal repeating devices installed around your home. This helps your Z-Wave hub stay connected with each device, especially if they're spread out far away from the hub. Even with a range of up to 250 feet line of sight, obstacles like thick walls, large furniture, and glass or metal elements can limit the Z-Wave signal. We recommend adding a Z-Wave signal repeater between your hub and Remote Switch if its target location is far from the hub.
Signal repeaters include any non-battery powered Z-Wave devices and can help the hub can form reliable communication routes to all the devices in your network. The repeater can be any smart plug or switch, like the ZEN04 Smart Plug or ZEN15 Power Switch, or a dedicated Z-Wave signal repeater like the ZAC38 Range Extender.
Repeaters may not be needed if you've got an extensive network of Z-Wave devices. But if your ZEN37 is having issues staying connected to your hub, then you may need to try a different location within the hub's range, adding a repeater, or relocating an existing one in your house to help with any range or communication issues. If your Remote Switch is within range and in an area with other signal extenders, and still having problems, then these other hub-specific troubleshoots could be worth trying.
