Add your ZSE70 Outdoor Motion Sensor to your Z-Box hub quickly and easily. You'll get access to all of its functionality right away.
We strongly suggest using the Web UI when adding new devices to your hub but we also included instructions for mobile app users - just keep scrolling down!
The ZSE70 can operate on either battery or 12-24 V AC/DC power; NEVER include the sensor powered with 12 V and then switch over to batteries. Your hub will recognize the sensor as a Z-Wave repeater and the batteries will drain quickly. Always include the sensor powered by batteries only if you’re planning to use it as a battery device.
ADD THE ZSE70 OUTDOOR MOTION SENSOR ON BATTERY POWER FROM THE WEB UI:
1. Twist the back cover of the ZSE70 counter clockwise to open it and access the batteries. Pull on the battery tab to power the sensor. The LED indicator will start blinking.
2. Open your Z-Box web interface in the Internet browser and select Settings (the gear icon) from the sidebar navigation menu.
3. The screen will display all of your existing devices.
4. Click on the + Add device blue button in the top right corner.
5. Select Z-Wave Device in the next screen.
6. Make sure you can physically access your ZSE70 sensor and click Start on the screen.
7. While the hub is in inclusion mode, click the Z-Wave button 3 times quickly. The LED indicator will start blinking fast and turn off once inclusion is completed. It may take a few minutes for the device to add and configure so please wait patiently and don't exit the screen.
8. Once the device is found, you'll be able to rename it and assign it to its room. Click Next and then Finish once you rename and organize all of the newly created devices.
ADD THE ZSE70 OUTDOOR MOTION SENSOR ON 12-24V AC/DC POWER FROM THE WEB UI:
1. Power the ZSE70 via 12-24V AC/DC. Replace the bottom cap with terminal seal. Unscrew the cap and connect 12-24 V wires to the terminals (follow polarity). Install the cover: gently mount the 3 pieces included in the box starting with the frame, then add the seal, and screw the cover on. You can scan the QR code in the manual to watch a video detailing how to install the 12-24V power source.
2. Open your Z-Box web interface in the Internet browser and select Settings (the gear icon) from the sidebar navigation menu.
3. The screen will display all of your existing devices.
4. Click on the + Add device blue button in the top right corner.
5. Select Z-Wave Device in the next screen.
6. Make sure you can physically access your ZSE70 Outdoor Motion Sensor and click Start on the screen.

TROUBLESHOOTING:
Trouble including the sensor? Try a soft, hub-based reset first. We recommend performing the reset using your hub and the exclusion option (it works even if the device has never been added to your hub before):
1. Open your Z-Box web interface in the Internet browser and select Settings (the gear icon) from the sidebar navigation menu. A list of your existing devices will appear.
2. Click the red - Remove device button in the top right corner.
3. Select Z-Wave Device in the next screen.
4. Make sure you can physically access your ZSE70 sensor and click Start on the screen.
5. Click the Z-Wave button on the sensor 3 times as quickly as possible. The LED indicator will start blinking and the Z-Box Hub will display a "Device removed" message.
