Installing the ZSE70 Outdoor Motion Sensor on your home’s siding is a straightforward process that enhances your outdoor security with smart motion detection. Whether you’re looking to improve lighting automation, receive security alerts, or integrate it with a smart home system, proper installation is key to optimal performance.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through a step-by-step process to securely mount the ZSE70 sensor, ensuring a stable setup that maximizes coverage and sensitivity. From choosing the right mounting spot to connecting it with your smart home hub, follow these instructions to get your motion sensor up and running in no time.
- Choose your mounting location. Tips:
- Select a location at least 7 feet from the ground
- The sensor detects motion the best from the side of the lens, so keep that in mind when choosing your installation location and the angle of install.
- Gather your supplies:
- Pen or pencil
- Small Philips head screwdriver
- Compact drill with attachment slightly smaller than the mounting screw size
- Mark the screw placement location using the mounting base and the pen/pencil as illustrated in the video below.
- Pre-drill the openings for the screw insertion. Ensure you use a bit that is thinner than the screw so the screw is able to grip and hold firmly.
- Thread the screws through the holes in the bracket and insert them into the pre-drilled holes in the siding.
- Tighten the screws with the small Philips head screwdriver.
- Slide the sensor onto the bracket and adjust the angle.
