This is product is discontinued and replaced with ZSE70.
Check to make sure you're following the right steps for manual or auto-inclusion since the inclusion process for each is a little different.
The ZSE29 VER 2.0 is a motion and lux sensor now, and is officially integrated with SmartThings, so you'll be able to use it remotely out of the box. However, we recommend installing the lua Edge driver to access advanced settings and lux sensor readings.
Please ensure you install the driver prior to inclusion, as you are no longer able to assign a driver to a device manually. With the driver installed, you can proceed to auto-include or manually include your ZSE29 Outdoor Motion Sensor to SmartThings.
Auto-include in the SmartThings app:
- Tap the plus icon in the home screen
- Tap Device
- Tap "Scan nearby" (in the corner of the screen)
- While the app says "Scanning...", insert the 3 AA batteries or connect the USB adapter board
- After a few seconds, the new sensor should appear in the app. Rename it if needed and return to the home page
Manually include in the SmartThings app:
- Tap the plus icon in the home screen
- Tap Device
- Tap "Scan nearby" (in the corner of the screen)
- While the app says "Scanning...", click the tamper switch 3 times very quickly
- The app will indicate when the device connects
- Tap Edit to rename the device, and tap Done to save the name
- Tap Done to complete the setup
*If you’re using an S2 hub, it may ask you to enter the DSK key printed on the back cover sticker to complete secure inclusion.
Once the sensor is included, perform network repair to optimize connectivity. This will help SmartThings find the best communication route to the sensor. Here's how to repair the network.
If you're having issues including your Outdoor Motion Sensor to SmartThings, we'd recommend excluding it using these instructions and try including it again.
