This is product is discontinued and replaced with ZEN72.
In order to add the ZEN22 to your hub, you may need to exclude it first.
The exclusion process acts as a soft reset for your switch that can solve different inclusion or configuration problems. Your hub will confirm an “unknown” device was excluded which will allow you to then try and add it again. Confirm you have the latest version of Hubitat installed before going through with the exclusion process below:
- Open Hubitat in your Internet browser
- Go to Devices
- Click on + Add Device in the top right corner
- Click on Z-Wave
- Click on Start Z-Wave Exclusion
- While the device is searching for a device, tap the Lower Paddle 3 times as quickly as possible
- The app will indicate when the device is successfully excluded.
Once you've tried exclusion, include the ZEN22 to your hub with the steps shown here. If you still can’t add the switch to Hubitat, try some of these tips:
- The exclusion commands aren’t always processed on the first run so you can try to exclude the device again.
- When trying to include, tap the paddle 4-5 times as quickly as possible in case the switch isn’t recognizing the command in 3 taps.
- You may be experiencing range or connectivity issues if the switch is installed far away from the hub. Try adding a Z-Wave signal repeater (which can also be any non-battery powered Z-Wave device) in between the ZEN22 switch and hub to improve communication. You can also use a secondary hand-held controller, like a Z-stick, to pair the switch to the hub.
- If your ZEN22 successfully joined your mesh network but isn’t responding to remote commands, then you may need to go through these connectivity troubleshoots to resolve the issue.
