How to Add Your ZEN23 On/Off Toggle Switch to Hubitat

What does that mean?

Hubitat integrated the ZEN23 Switch officially, making inclusion faster and easier directly out of the box. 

The On/Off Toggle Switch supports S2 security so if you're on a Hubitat C-7 hub, you'll want to add your ZEN23 with S2 Unauthenticated security for a successful inclusion. Older versions of the Hubitat hub don't support S2 security so you don't need to worry about this step and can just the switch with the steps below. 

Here are the steps for adding the ZEN23 to your Hubitat hub:

  1. Open Hubitat in your Internet browser

  2. Go to Devices

  3. Click on + Add Device in the top right corner

  4. Click on Z-Wave

  5. Click on Start Z-Wave Inclusion

  6. While the app says its in inclusion mode, toggle the switch UP 3 times as quickly as possible

  7. Rename and confirm the found device

If the ZEN23 is having trouble joining the hub’s network, then it may require an exclusion first. The process acts as a soft reset and can help the switch configure properly to pair with Hubitat. From device view, you should also see an option to access the ZEN23’s advanced settings. If it’s not there, verify your Hubitat platform is running on the latest version and then use these steps to add a custom device driver.
