This is product is discontinued and replaced with ZSE11.
Your sensor's security level may be affecting its battery life - let's try fixing that!
The ZSE40 normally supports S0 for Z-Wave security, which is considered paired securely for the ZSE40. However, on HA, we recommend pairing the device without security to optimize your sensor's performance and battery life.
We recommend using a fresh, new battery into your sensor to ensure there aren't any power related issues before trying to add the sensor back to your Home Assistant network:
To add the sensor non-securely to your system:
1. Go to the Z-Wave control panel in the Home Assistant frontend
2. Click the Add Node button in the Z-Wave Network Management card to put the controller in inclusion mode.
- Note: You'll want this button instead of the Add Node Secure, which would add your sensor securely and eat through your sensor's batteries quicker.
3. While the system is in inclusion mode, click the Z-Wave button on the sensor TWICE quickly with a paperclip
4. Make sure the sensor is paired with the network and fully configured before installing it in its final location.
5. Run a Heal Network once the sensor is in its target spot.
Monitor the battery level after connecting your sensor without security to ensure the issue is resolved.
