The ZEN16 Multirelay has a lot of potential uses - but it's very important to use the correct power supply and make the right connections!

Since the ZEN16 is a dry contact device, the power supply only powers the Z-Wave chip and electronics in the unit. Therefore, the power supply doesn't need to be rated for a lot of power even if the ZEN16 will be controlling a heavy duty load. Battery based power supplies cannot be used with any of our devices.

The ZEN16 can be powered by one of two power supplies linked below:

• USB C with a 1 A Power Adapter plug (you just need a USB plug, the USB cable is included with the device)
• 12-24 V adapter (or any other 12-24 V AC/DC power supply)

Note: Please make sure you do NOT use both power supplies at the same time. Please do NOT use laptop or tablet chargers to power the ZEN16.

Important: Before making any connections, make sure you're applying the power supply to the correct terminals! There should never be any voltage applied to the Sw input terminals.

If you're looking to do some low voltage input monitoring, you would need the ZAC98 Relay with your ZEN16 to translate the low-voltage signal to dry contacts on the ZEN16 since the Switch terminals only support dry contact input on the MultiRelay. This is a common set-up for alarm panels, sprinkler timers, and HVAC systems.
