This is product is discontinued and replaced with ZSE11.
The ZSE40 700 is integrated with the latest JS integration of Home Assistant. If you aren't on the JS integration yet, Home Assistant currently recommends handling Z-Wave devices through the new Z-Wave JS integration since all others have essentially been abandoned and / or discontinued.
Once you've powered up your 4-in-1 Sensor by inserting the battery, it's time to add it to Home Assistant:
- Place the sensor near its final installation location
- In Home Assistant: open Configuration > Integrations > Z-Wave JS > Configure.
- Click on Add node.
- Click on Start Inclusion to initiate pairing.
- While the system is in inclusion mode, press the Z-Wave button twice quickly with a paperclip
- The LED indicator will flash 5 times (color depends on room temperature, it’s usually blue or yellow) to signal communication and then turn off to confirm inclusion. You should then see the sensor on your device list
If you are having issues adding the sensor to your network, the first thing to try is exclusion which is a type of soft Z-Wave reset.
Once the sensor is added, note that it won't report motion via binary sensor. It will rather report motion via burglar notifications where values 0 and 8 translate to no motion/motion. Here's more about this from the HA community.
