With the ZEN17 installed and ready to pair, it's time to include it to Home Assistant:
If you haven't already, we recommend updating to the ZWaveJS integration of Home Assistant. Zooz products are now officially integrated with the JS integration of Home Assistant and you should have access to all of the Universal Relay's advanced settings on it.
Then you can go ahead and add the device to Home Assistant using these steps:
- In Home Assistant: open Configuration > Integrations > Z-Wave JS > Configure.
- Click on Add node.
- Click on Start Inclusion to initiate pairing.
- While the system is in inclusion mode, press the Z-Wave button 3 times as quickly as possible. The LED indicator will blink to indicate communication and stay on for 2 seconds to confirm inclusion.
- Home Assistant will confirm a successful inclusion.
* If you’re using an S2 hub, it will ask you to enter the DSK PIN or scan the QR code printed on the device.
With the Universal Relay added to your hub, you'll be able to create rules for it, control it remotely, and customize it via the advanced settings.
If your ZEN17 is having trouble pairing to Home Assistant, we recommend excluding it from the network first before giving the inclusion steps above another try. Exclusion acts as a type of Z-Wave reset to help resolve any configuration issues.
