A range or configuration issue could cause your ZSE41 Open|Close XS sensor to show up as “offline” in Hubitat. Try a Z-Wave Network Repair!
Ensure your Hubitat hub is up to date on its platform version. Follow these steps to run the Z-Wave Repair to refresh your Z-Wave mesh network connections:
-
Open Hubitat in your Internet browser
-
Go to Settings
-
Click on Z-Wave Details
-
Click on Repair Z-Wave
If it is successfully repaired, you will see a "Z-Wave Network Repair finished" confirmation. Next, include the ZSE41 to join your Z-Wave network.
You can also try these other troubleshooting tips with your ZSE41 sensor:
- You can exclude the sensor and reinclude it. This acts as a soft reset to help your sensor configure correctly or find a better route to communicate with Hubitat.
- You can also add a non-battery powered Z-Wave device, or a Z-Wave signal repeater, between the hub and sensor. This will help improve communication between the two devices. A secondary Z-Wave Repair will need to be run in order for the additional device to be recognized and used in the communication path with the ZSE41.
- Try moving the sensor closer to the hub. If the device is too far away, or in an area surrounded by a lot of metal or glass elements, it could be having communication issues. Once moved to a new location, exclude and re-include the device for the change to be recognized.
