If your ZEN34 Remote Switch is connected, but isn't responding to Hubitat commands, then there could be a connectivity or configuration issue.
You can try to repair the Z-Wave network to see if that improves the hub's connection with the ZEN34. You’ll want to check that you have the latest version of Hubitat and the latest firmware update installed on your device. If you do, proceed with the Repair Z-Wave feature, to refresh your mesh network's connections.
Here's how to perform a Z-Wave repair in Hubitat:
-
Open Hubitat in your Internet browser
-
Go to Settings
-
Click on Z-Wave Details
-
Click on Repair Z-Wave
Hubitat should confirm the repair with a "Z-Wave Network Repair finished" message. Once the hub confirms the repair is finished, you can try sending commands to your ZEN34.
Try these suggestions if your device still isn’t connecting:
- If your Remote Switch is still having trouble, you can try excluding and re-including the device to Hubitat. The hub may not have formed the most efficient communication route with the unit the first time around.
- Try adding the Remote Switch without security.
- Add a Z-Wave signal repeater between the ZEN34 and Hubitat to help with any range or interference issues. Any non-battery powered Z-Wave device like another switch, smart plug, etc. can act as a Z-Wave signal repeater. Try another Z-Wave repair after adding the unit so that the hub recognizes the additional device.
- As a last resort, try the switch in a location closer to the hub. If you're able to exclude, include and control the switch from the new location, then the previous location may have been out of range.
