Are you having issues including the Double Plug to SmartThings? Give exclusion a try!
Exclusion acts as a soft reset for the device and can even be done even if your ZEN14 was never added to the network. The process can help with any inclusion or configuration issues.
Here are the steps to remove the ZEN14 from the SmartThings app:
- Open your SmartThings app and locate your SmartThings hub under Devices. Tap the hub to see the device details.

Tap the three dots in the upper right hand corner and tap Settings
- Tap Z-Wave Utilities
- Tap Z-Wave Exclusion
- While the app is searching for a device, press the Z-Wave button on the device 3 times as quickly as possible
- The app will indicate when the device is successfully removed. Tap Done
Once the app confirms that a device was removed, please use these inclusion steps to try adding the ZEN14 to your SmartThings hub.
The ZEN14 is still having difficulty being added? Please try these troubleshooting steps below:
- Attempt the exclusion process once again. It's possible that the commands didn't go through correctly on the first try.
- Move the plug closer to the hub to rule out any range issues. If it includes successfully close to the hub, the previous spot may be out of range or encountering interference.
- Try pressing the Z-Wave button more than 3 times very quickly to ensure the command has gone through.
