Trouble with inclusion? It may sound counterintuitive but give exclusion a try! Exclusion is simply a hub-based reset, and can be done at any time, whether a device has been included to the hub or not.
It acts as a soft reset for the device and the process can help with any inclusion or configuration issues. Please ensure you have the Edge driver installed for the ZEN05 before you try including the device again.
Here are the steps to remove the ZEN05 from the SmartThings app:
- Open your SmartThings app and locate your SmartThings hub under Devices. Tap the hub to see the device details.
-
Tap the three dots in the upper right hand corner and tap Settings
- Tap Z-Wave Utilities
- Tap Z-Wave Exclusion
- While the app is searching for a device, press the Z-Wave button on the device 3 times as quickly as possible
- The app will indicate when the device is successfully removed. Tap Done
Once the app confirms that a device was removed, please follow these inclusion steps to try adding the ZEN05 to your SmartThings hub.
The ZEN05 is still having difficulty being added? Please try these troubleshooting steps below:
- Attempt the exclusion process once again. Sometimes the commands don't go through correctly on the first try.
- Try moving the plug closer to the hub to rule out any potential range issues. If it includes successfully close to the hub, the previous spot may be out of range or encountering interference.
- Try pressing the Z-Wave button more than 3 times very quickly to ensure the command has gone through.
Send us a message if you're still unable to include the device, and we'll be happy to help!
