My ZEN37 Wall Remote is Unresponsive in Hubitat

So your ZEN37 Wall Remote is included but not responsive to commands from your hub? You'll want to rule out any range, interference, or configuration issues at play.

You can try to repair the Z-Wave network to see if that improves the hub's connection with the ZEN37. First, verify you have the latest version of Hubitat and the latest firmware installed on your device. If you do, proceed with the Repair Z-Wave feature to refresh your mesh network's connections.

Here's how to perform a Z-Wave repair in Hubitat:

  1. Open Hubitat in your Internet browser

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Click on Z-Wave Details

  4. Click on Repair Z-Wave

  5. Manually wake the ZEN37 by clicking the lower left button 6 times as quickly as possible. The LED indicator will stay on solid blue during wake-up and will turn off when the device turns the Z-Wave radio off again.

Hubitat should confirm the repair with a "Z-Wave Network Repair finished" message. Once the hub confirms the repair is finished, you can try sending commands to your ZEN37.

Try these suggestions if your device still isn’t connecting:

  • If your Wall Remote is still having trouble, you can try excluding and re-including the device to Hubitat. The hub may not have formed the most efficient communication route with the unit the first time around.
  • Try adding the Wall Remote without security.
  • Add a Z-Wave signal repeater between the ZEN37 and Hubitat to help with any range or interference issues. Any non-battery powered Z-Wave device like another switch, smart plug, etc. can act as a Z-Wave signal repeater. Try another Z-Wave repair after adding the unit so that the hub recognizes the additional device.
  • Try the switch in a location closer to the hub. If you're able to exclude, include and control the switch from the new location, then the previous location may have been out of range.
