How to Add Your ZSE18 Motion Sensor to the Z-Box Hub

Add your ZSE18 Motion Sensor to your Z-Box Hub quickly and easily. You'll get access to all of its functionality right away.

We strongly suggest using the Web UI when adding new devices to your hub but we also included instructions for mobile app users - just keep scrolling down!

 

The ZSE18 can operate on either battery or USB power; ensure you use the correct inclusion method to enroll the sensor either as a battery powered device or a signal repeating device on USB.

 

ADD THE ZSE18 MOTION SENSOR ON BATTERY POWER FROM THE WEB UI:

1. Open your Z-Box web interface in the Internet browser and select Settings (the gear icon) from the sidebar navigation menu.

2. The screen will display all of your existing devices.

3. Click on the + Add device blue button in the top right corner.

4. Select Z-Wave Device in the next screen.

5. Make sure you can physically access your ZSE18 Motion Sensor and click Start on the screen.

6. While the hub is in inclusion mode, press and release the Z-Wave button 3 times quickly. The LED indicator will start blinking fast and turn solid for a second to confirm inclusion. It may take a few minutes for the device to add and configure so please wait patiently and don't exit the screen.

7. Once the device is found, you'll be able to rename it and assign it to its room. Click Next and then Finish once you rename and organize all of the newly created devices.

 

ADD THE ZSE18 MOTION SENSOR ON USB POWER FROM THE WEB UI:

1. Open your Z-Box web interface in the Internet browser and select Settings (the gear icon) from the sidebar navigation menu.

2. The screen will display all of your existing devices.

3. Click on the + Add device blue button in the top right corner.

4. Select Z-Wave Device in the next screen.

5. Make sure you can physically access your ZSE18 Motion Sensor and click Start on the screen.

6. While the hub is in inclusion mode, press and hold the Z-Wave button for at least 5 seconds. Release the button as soon as the LED indicator starts blinking. If you hold it for too long, inclusion will fail. The LED indicator will start blinking fast and turn solid for a second to confirm inclusion. It may take a few minutes for the device to add and configure so please wait patiently and don't exit the screen.

7. Once the device is found, you'll be able to rename it and assign it to its room. Click Next and then Finish once you rename and organize all of the newly created devices.

1. Open the Z-Box Hub app on your mobile device.

2. Click More in the bottom navigation menu.

3. Click on + Add Devices.

4. Select the Z-Wave Protocol.

5. Make sure you can physically access your ZSE18 Motion Sensor and click Start on the screen.

1. Open the Z-Box Hub app on your mobile device.

2. Click More in the bottom navigation menu.

3. Click on + Add Devices.

4. Select the Z-Wave Protocol.

5. Make sure you can physically access your ZSE18 Motion Sensor and click Start on the screen.

6. While the hub is in inclusion mode, press and hold the Z-Wave button for at least 5 seconds. Release the button as soon as the LED indicator starts blinking. * If you’re using an S2 hub, it will ask you to enter the DSK PIN or scan the QR code printed on the bottom part of the sensor to complete SmartStart inclusion.

 

 

TROUBLESHOOTING:

Trouble including the sensor? Try a soft, hub-based reset first. We recommend performing the reset using your hub and the exclusion option (it works even if the device has never been added to your hub before):

1. Open your Z-Box web interface in the Internet browser and select Settings (the gear icon) from the sidebar navigation menu. A list of your existing devices will appear.

2. Click the red - Remove device button in the top right corner.

3. Select Z-Wave Device in the next screen.

4. Make sure you can physically access your ZSE18 Sensor and click Start on the screen.

5. Press and release the Z-Wave button on the sensor 3 times as quickly as possible. The LED indicator will start blinking and the Z-Box Hub will display a "Device removed" message.
