The Zooz Z-Wave Leak Sensor was upgraded to the new 800 series Z-Wave chip and Z-Wave Long Range, like most devices in our product line. But we added a few more upgrades to this model. If you're wondering what the difference is between the older 700 series model and the new 800 series Z-Wave Long Range ZSE42 XS Leak Sensor, take a look at the list below.

  • The battery on ZSE42 800LR is CR2450 (vs CR2032 on ZSE42 700)
  • Extra seal was added to the cover of the ZSE42 800LR to protect the device from water damage
  • The ZSE42 800LR has an IP66 rating (strong water jets and dust-tight)
  • The ZSE42 800LR is a little bit bigger to accommodate the new waterproof design (ZSE42 800LR size: 2.4” x 1.4” x 0.4” vs ZSE42 700 size: 1.9” x 1” x 0.3”)
  • The battery cover opens with the included round tool on the ZSE42 800LR to accommodate the waterproof design
  • The ZSE42 800LR comes with the 800 series Z-Wave chip and is Long Range ready with the ability to communicate with a Z-Wave Long Range enabled hub at a distance of 1300 feet (only with a hub/controller that provides Long Range support).
