Can't Add My ZEN34 Remote Switch to HomeSeer

If you're having trouble adding your ZEN34 Remote Switch to HomeSeer, you may need to try exclusion first.

The exclusion process acts as a soft reset and can be done even if you haven't paired the ZEN34 to HomeSeer or another Z-Wave network before.

 

Zooz products are officially integrated with the Z-Wave Plus and the Z-Wave JS Front-End of HomeSeer. If you're experiencing issues with accessing the advanced settings of your device or the unit not properly displaying, we would recommend first updating to the Z-Wave Plus or the Z-Wave JS Front-End, then excluding and re-including your device to your network in order for it to be recognized correctly.

 

Here are the steps for excluding the ZEN34 Remote Switch in HomeSeer: 

 

  1. In the HomeSeer UI, click the "Plugins;" from the drop-down menu, select "Z-Wave."
  2. Select "Remove Device."
  3. You will be taken to a new page; click "Continue" to start the exclusion process on the hub.
  4. Tap the lower paddle of the switch 6 times very quickly (the LED indicator will start flashing)
  5. HomeSeer should confirm the device was removed. Finalize by clicking "Finish."

Once the exclusion process is successfully finalized, try including the device to HomeSeer. 

 

Here are some additional troubleshoots if the above did not help: 

  • Give the exclusion process another try! It's possible the command from the first run wasn't registered correctly. 
  • If you have a Z-Wave signal repeater available (switch, relay, smart plug, dedicated repeater - any Z-Wave device that doesn't rely on battery power), try placing it between the switch and hub. Make sure to heal the network so that the hub recognizes the new device. This can help in case there is an interference or range issue preventing stable communication between the two nodes. 
  • Try bringing the ZEN34 within direct range of the hub if the hub is located far away from the remote's desired installation location.
