Before including the ZSE70, decide whether you want to power the unit via battery or 12-24V AC/DC and if you'll be using auto or manual inclusion.
NEVER include the sensor powered with 12 V and then switch over to batteries. Your hub will recognize the sensor as a Z-Wave repeater and the batteries will drain quickly. Always include the sensor powered by batteries only if you’re planning to use it as a battery device.
- If you choose to power the unit with batteries, first twist the back cover of the ZSE70 counter clockwise to open it and access the batteries. Pull on the battery tab to power the sensor. The LED indicator will start blinking.
- If you prefer to power the ZSE70 via 12-24V AC/DC, first replace the bottom cap with the terminal seal. Unscrew the cap and connect 12-24 V wires to the terminals (follow polarity). Install the cover: gently mount the 3 pieces included in the box starting with the frame, then add the seal, and screw the cover on. You can scan the QR code in the manual to watch a video detailing how to install the 12-24V power source.
Zooz products are officially integrated with the Z-Wave Plus and the Z-Wave JS Front-End of HomeSeer. If you're experiencing issues with inclusion or accessing the advanced settings of your device or the unit not properly displaying, we would recommend first updating to the Z-Wave Plus or the Z-Wave JS Front-End, then excluding and re-including your device to your network in order for it to be recognized correctly.
Once you've verified you're running the Z-Wave Plus or JS Front End of HomeSeer, you can include the device using the process below:
- In the HomeSeer UI: open the "Devices" tab.
- Click + sign at the top right of the page;
- Select "Z-Wave".
- Click "Continue" to put the hub in inclusion mode.
- While the system is in inclusion mode, press the Z-Wave button on the ZSE70 3 times very quickly (The LED indicator will start flashing blue to confirm inclusion mode and turn green for 1 second once inclusion is completed).
- A window should then appear to allow you to select the supported security level; if S2A is selected, a new window will appear for pin entry.
- Follow the prompts to assign the device to a specific room/area and rename it.
- Double check the information and finalize inclusion by clicking "Continue"
If you encounter any issues including your ZSE70 to HomeSeer, try excluding it first. The process can be done even if the switch was never included and acts as a type of soft Z-Wave reset that generally resolves most inclusion issues.
