How to Add Your ZSE18 Motion Sensor to HomeSeer

The ZSE18 comes with two power options, the provided battery or the provided micro USB cable.

Zooz products are officially integrated with the Z-Wave Plus and the Z-Wave JS Front-End of HomeSeer. If you're experiencing issues with inclusion or accessing the advanced settings of your device or the unit not properly displaying, we would recommend first updating to the Z-Wave Plus or the Z-Wave JS Front-End, then excluding and re-including your device to your network in order for it to be recognized correctly.

Once you've verified you're running the Z-Wave Plus or JS Front End of HomeSeer, you can include the device using the process below:

  1. Power the sensor: Insert the batteries or the micro USB cable. The LED indicator will start blinking. The sensor can only be powered by a single power source. If it's powered by both USB and battery, it may damage it and it could not work on battery reliably afterwards.
  2. In the HomeSeer UI: open the "Devices" tab.
  3. Click + sign at the top right of the page;
  4. Select "Z-Wave".
  5. Click "Continue" to put the hub in inclusion mode.
  6. While the system is in inclusion mode, press the Z-Wave button on the ZSE18 3 times very quickly
  7. A window should then appear to allow you to select the supported security level; if S2A is selected, a new window will appear for pin entry.
  8. Follow the prompts to assign the device to a specific room/area and rename it.
  9. Double check the information and finalize inclusion by clicking "Continue"

If you encounter any issues including your ZSE18 to HomeSeer, try excluding it first. The process can be done even if the device was never included and acts as a type of soft Z-Wave reset that generally resolves most inclusion issues.
