Trouble adding your ZEN75 Heavy Duty Switch to Hubitat? We've got you covered!
Your ZEN75 may have never been included in your hub’s network, but that doesn't mean you can't remove it. The app will confirm a successful exclusion of an “unknown” device which will then allow the device to be added. Before going through with the process, make sure your Hubitat platform is up to date.
However, please note that exclusion before inclusion applies to the 700 series and earlier chip sets. The 800 series devices will not exclude before they have been included; please factory reset the unit instead, then try inclusion again.
Use these steps to exclude the ZEN75 Heavy Duty Switch from Hubitat:
- Open Hubitat in your Internet browser
- Go to Devices
- Click on + Add Device in the top right corner
- Click on Z-Wave
- Click on Start Z-Wave Exclusion
- While the device is searching for a device, tap the Lower Paddle 3 times as quickly as possible (the LED indicator will start flashing)
- The app will indicate when the device is successfully excluded.
After successfully excluding the ZEN75, use the steps here to try pairing it again.
If your ZEN75 Heavy Duty Switch still won't pair to Hubitat, take a look at these tips:
- It’s worth giving the exclusion process another try as the switch may not have recognized the commands on the first try.
- You can also try to pair the switch again, tapping the paddle of the switch 4-5 times, instead of 3, as quickly as possible to see if that helps the command process.
- Try a factory reset on the switch, then try including it again.
- Use a Z-Wave signal repeater (or any non-battery powered Z-Wave device) between the hub and ZEN75 to fix any range or connectivity issues. You'll want to include the repeating device while located at the target location between the hub and the ZEN75, and then try including the ZEN75 so the hub can utilize the new device to reach the ZEN75.
- You can use a hand-held secondary controller, like a Z-Wave stick, to pair the switch with Hubitat in case it is installed too far away from the hub.
- Try including the ZEN75 as a Z-Wave Long Range device instead; this may help resolve any potential range or interference issues.
If you see that your ZEN75 switch has been included but is not reacting to any Z-Wave commands, try these connectivity troubleshoots.
