Add your ZEN75 Heavy Duty Switch to SmartThings in no time!

First, you'll want to start with installing the Edge driver for the ZEN75. You will need to have this installed to access any of the advanced settings for the switch. Check out the easy driver installation instructions here, then you can continue below to include the ZEN75.

You can choose either Scan QR Code or Scan Nearby; if you have issues with one method, please try the other.

Scan QR Code Inclusion

  1. Tap the plus icon in the home screen of the SmartThings app
  2. Tap Device
  3. Tap "Scan QR code." Scan the QR code printed on the sticker found on the front of the device (wall plate removed)
  4. Input the 5-digit pin
  5. On the SmartThings app, select the hub and room you'd like the device added to and click Next
  6. When the app says "Get your device ready to connect," tap the UPPER paddle 3 times as quickly as possible; the LED indicator will blink blue to signal communication and turn green for 3 seconds if inclusion is successful or turn red for 3 seconds if the pairing attempt fails.
  7. A few seconds later, the app will display a new device on the screen.
  8. Click Done

If the above QR code method isn't working, you can give the below process a try:

Scan Nearby Inclusion

  • Tap the plus icon in the home screen
  • Tap Device
  • Tap "Scan nearby" (in the corner of the screen)
  • While the app says "Scanning...", tap the UPPER paddle 3 times as quickly as possible; the LED indicator will blink blue to signal communication and turn green for 3 seconds if inclusion is successful or turn red for 3 seconds if the pairing attempt fails.
  • The app will indicate when the device connects
  • Tap Edit to rename the device, and tap Done to save the name
  • Tap Done to complete the setup

If you're having issues with adding the switch correctly to your hub, try excluding the device using the steps shown here. Exclusion acts as a reset and it can help with a variety of configuration issues. The process can be done even if the switch was never included and acts as a type of Z-Wave reset. If exclusion does not resolve the issue, please try a factory reset on the ZEN75.

If you're still unable to include the device, please reach out to our team and make sure you let us know both the hub and the ZEN75 LED response to exclusion, reset, and inclusion attempts in your message to us to expedite troubleshooting, as these are the first steps we will ask you take.
