How to Add Your ZEN06 Smart Plug to SmartThings

This is product is discontinued and replaced with ZEN04.

What does that mean?

Be sure to install the custom device handler to enable full functionality with the hub. 

If you haven't installed a handler before, it's an easy process that only takes a few minutes. The handler will give you access to all of the Smart Plug's advanced settings and ensure that the device is configured properly. Here's the step-by-step showing how to add the handler

Once the handler is installed and shows up in your IDE portal, you're ready to include it to the network. 

Here are the instructions for adding the ZEN06 to SmartThings: 

  1. Tap the plus icon in the home screen
  2. Tap Device
  3. Tap "Scan nearby" (in the corner of the screen)
  4. While the app says "Scanning...", press the Z-Wave button 3 times as quickly as possible
  5. The app will indicate when the device connects
  6. Tap Edit to rename the device, and tap Done to save the name
  7. Tap Done to complete the setup

 

Once you include the plug and move it to its target location, it's a good idea to perform network repair for optimal connectivity. This will help SmartThings find the best communication route to the Smart Plug. Here's how to repair the network
