print icon

The ZEN57 XS Relay is a unique, compact 240V Z-Wave relay, designed for tight electrical boxes where standard-size relays simply don’t fit. Whether you're outfitting a single-pole switch or upgrading a junction-box-based fixture, the ZEN57 offers a flexible, reliable solution for 120V and 240V control.

Product Overview

Model: ZEN57 XS Relay
Power Source: 100-240VAC 50/60Hz
Relay Type: Wet Contact
Switch Type: Dry Contact (via pigtail wires)
Terminals: Block terminals (screw-style)
Form Factor: Extra small – significantly smaller than the ZEN51

Load Ratings

Voltage   Resistive Load   Incandescent   LED Bulbs
120V 5A 500W 150W
240V 5A 1000W 300W

Recommended Use Cases

  • Tight Switch Boxes: Ideal for shallow or crowded wall boxes where the ZEN51 is too large.

  • Behind a Mechanical Switch: Perfect for single-pole installations when load and power are in the same box.

  • At the Light Fixture: Suitable for direct installation at the fixture junction box.

  • Multi-Switch Configurations: Can be used with regular or momentary switches wired in series, but only if the line and load are in the same box.

🚫 Not Recommended For:

  • Multi-way installations with load and line in separate boxes

  • Applications exceeding the listed load ratings

Z-Wave Hub Integration

  • Displays as: On/Off switch

  • Advanced Features:

    • Use parameters to separate input (switch) from output (relay)

    • Create a child device using Notification Command Class (same method as ZEN16/17)

Physical Characteristics

  • Screw-type block terminals

  • 2 pigtail wires for the dry contact switch input

  • Smaller footprint than the ZEN51 — fits easily in switch boxes that other relays can’t
