This is product is discontinued and replaced with the ZEN74. What does that mean?
If your ZEN24 is having difficulties connecting to your hub, you may need to exclude it.
Excluding is a simple process that acts as a soft reset to help with various inclusion and configuration issues. It can be done even if your ZEN24 never successfully joined your hub’s network. It’s important to also make sure that your Hubitat is operating on the latest platform version. Once you have done that, you can try the exclusion process below:
- Open Hubitat in your Internet browser
- Go to Devices
- Click on + Add Device in the top right corner
- Click on Z-Wave
- Click on Start Z-Wave Exclusion
- While the device is searching for a device, toggle the switch DOWN 3 times as quickly as possible
- The app will indicate when the device is successfully excluded.
Once you’re done with the exclusion process, add the ZEN24 switch to your hub with the instructions shown here. If the switch is still having issues connecting to Hubitat, try these tips:
- Perform the commands to exclude another time. They may not have been registered correctly on the first run.
- Give the inclusion process another try, this time toggling the switch up 4-5 times (instead of 3). It’s important to toggle as quickly as possible to ensure the command goes through.
- Try expanding your Z-Wave network range by adding a Z-Wave signal repeater (any non-battery powered Z-Wave device) between the ZEN24 and hub. It can help the switch communicate better with the hub and fix any range problems. You can also use a Z-stick or another hand-held secondary controller to then pair the switch with the hub.
- If the ZEN24 switch is showing up in Hubitat but not responding to Z-Wave commands, then check out these connectivity troubleshoots that usually resolve the issue.
We’ll be happy to help if nothing seems to get the ZEN24 switch to work, so please don’t hesitate to reach out!
