This is product is discontinued and does not have a replacement yet. New product in development. What does that mean?
Excluding your ZSE19 may sound like taking a step in the wrong direction, but it could be the answer to your inclusion problem.
Even if your ZSE29 was never added to Hubitat, you’ll be able to complete the exclusion process. The app will send a notification confirming a successful exclusion of an “unknown” device. You will then be able to add the device to your hub. You’ll want to check if your Hubitat version is up-to-date first and then follow the steps for exclusion below:
-
Open Hubitat in your Internet browser
-
Go to Devices
-
Click on + Add Device in the top right corner
-
Click on Z-Wave
-
Click on Start Z-Wave Exclusion
-
While the device is searching for a device, click the Z-Wave button 3 times as quickly as possible
-
The app will indicate when the device is successfully excluded.
Once you’ve completed the exclusion steps, try adding your ZSE19 to the hub using these steps. If inclusion still doesn’t work, try some of these tips:
-
Give the exclusion process another try. The commands to exclude may not be recognized the first time around and so it might help to try again.
-
Perform the pairing process once again, this time clicking the Z-Wave button 4-5 times as quickly as possible.
-
You may need to add a Z-Wave signal repeater, or another non-battery powered Z-Wave device, to your network between the Multisiren and Hubitat to resolve any range or connectivity issues. After you’ve done that, if you have a hand-held secondary controller, like a Z-stick, it can helping with adding the Multisiren to the hub.
-
Sometimes your ZSE19 may be connected to your hub’s network but not respond to Z-Wave commands. If that’s the case, you can see if these connectivity troubleshoots help resolve the issue.
If the exclusion and inclusion processes didn’t solve your connection issues then please don’t hesitate to ask us – we can help.
