If the status of your ZEN20 Power Strip shows as “offline” status could indicate your device is out of range or didn’t configure properly. Try these steps to resolve the problem.
First, check if your Hubitat hub is updated to the latest platform version. Once you have done that, you can try a Z-Wave Network Repair to refresh your network connections. You can use the steps below to perform the repair:
-
Open Hubitat in your Internet browser
-
Go to Settings
-
Click on Z-Wave Details
-
Click on Repair Z-Wave
You’ll want to wait for a "Z-Wave Network Repair finished" confirmation message before trying to send any Z-Wave commands to your Power Strip. Afterwards, you can use the inclusion process to add the Power Strip to your network.
If your ZEN20 is still experiencing difficulties, you can give these troubleshooting tricks a try:
- Try excluding the Power Strip before adding it to your hub. The process acts as a soft reset and helps the hub find a better path of communication to the device.
- If you have another non-battery powered Z-Wave device, or signal repeater, you can try adding it between your ZEN20 and hub. This will extend the Z-Wave range and help the hub communicate with the Power Strip better in case it is too far away or there is some kind of interference. You’ll want to run another Z-Wave repair for the new device to be recognized and pathway to the ZEN20 to be formed.
- Try plugging the ZEN20 in an outlet closer to Hubitat to eliminate the possibility of a range issue. Remember to unpair the device and re-add it to your hub for the new location and communication route to be created.
