This is product is discontinued and replaced with ZEN73.

What does that mean?

Complete the look of your ZEN23 Switch with the right accessories!

What will I need for the installation? We recommend preparing the tools you'll need and reading the instructions closely which are provided with your Zooz switch BEFORE beginning the installation. Also included in the box with your ZEN23 is a neutral jumper needed in most installs, but if you need additional wire or wire nuts to complete the installation, then the recommended wire gauge for your installation is 14 AWG as used in most standard 120 V installations. Other basic electrical tools you may need on hand for the installation include a voltage meter and electrical pliers.

Important: Make sure your light fixture is within the ZEN23's specifications. The maximum load ratings for the ZEN23 are 150W for LED and CFL bulbs, 960W for incandescent lighting, and 1800W (15A) for resistive loads, or 3A for ceiling or exhaust fans (motor load only, not fan and lights at the same time). The ZEN23 toggle CANNOT be used to control a receptacle. We also don't recommend mixing incandescent and LED bulbs within the same fixture. Check out this helpful article to know exactly what can or cannot be connected to Zooz switches: General Questions about Zooz Light Switches.

Not sure how to wire your ZEN23 toggle? Then check out these helpful tricks before starting your installation:

  • Use the right diagram! The wiring diagram for a single pole installation can be found under the ZEN23's product page, while 3-or more-way diagrams are located right here in our Knowledge Base.
  • Make sure you've identified all of your wires before installing the switch. Your existing switches might have different wiring than Zooz switches, or if you're replacing a Zooz switch with the ZEN23, then it can also have a different wiring diagram. Use this guide to properly identify your wires before installing.
  • Check for neutral! All Zooz switches require neutral for installation. Reach out to us if you're not sure if your switch box has neutral!
  • Bring in a licensed electrician. Electrical installations are no joke so we would recommend hiring a professional to help install the switch for your own safety.
  • Ask us for help! What's in your switch might be different than what's shown in the diagram and that's fine! Send us a ticket with your order number (to verify the switch model, Amazon order numbers are good too!) and images of the wiring in each switch box (so that we can send the most accurate directions) and we'll have custom wiring instructions for you in no time.

Send us any questions you have about your ZEN23 toggle!
