If you are having trouble controlling your ZEN17 via Hubitat, it could indicate an issue with range or configuration.
There are a few things to try. We recommend checking that your Hubitat platform version is up-to-date. If it is, then you can use repair Z-Wave, which is a feature that refreshes your mesh network's connections. Here are the steps to perform to repair Z-Wave in Hubitat:
- Open Hubitat in your Internet browser
- Go to Settings
- Click on Z-Wave Details
- Click on Repair Z-Wave
Wait until the process is complete with a confirmation message before sending any commands to your Universal Relay.
Here are other troubleshooting steps to try if Z-Wave Repair didn't help:
- Give exclusion a try. The hub may not have established the most efficient communication route to the ZEN17 the first time.
- Add a Z-Wave signal repeater between the ZEN17 and hub. If you're able to, an additional Z-Wave signal repeating device will help the hub reach the ZEN17 if it's out of range or if there is any inteference. Perform Network Repair once more once it's been installed.
- Bring the ZEN17 closer to the hub. If the location of your relay is surrounded by a lot of metal or glass elements or thick walls (like in a garage) or placed in a spot far away from your hub, it would help to bring the unit closer to the hub to improve any range issues. Be sure to exclude and re-include the device from the new location so the hub can recognize the change. If communication is stabilized, the previous location was probably out of range.
If your ZEN17 is still having trouble being paired or responding to Z-Wave commands, please don't hesitate to reach out!
