Having trouble adding the ZEN17 to your Z-Wave system?
You may need to exclude or remove the device before you can give the inclusion steps another try. Exclusion can help with a variety of inclusion and configuration issues. You can perform the process even if the device was never successfully included to your Z-Wave system.
Here are the steps to give exclusion a try with your ZEN17:
- Make sure that the unit is powered by a proper 12-24 V or USB C power supply
- Put your Z-Wave hub into exclusion mode (see your controller's manual for details, as each brand is different)
- Click the Z-Wave button on the device 3 times very quickly
- Your hub should confirm exclusion; the relay will disappear from your device list if it was previously added
Once exclusion is complete, try re-including the ZEN17 to your hub.
If the process above wasn't successful, here are some other things to try:
- Try the exclusion process once more. It's possible that the commands just didn't go through the first time.
- Click the Z-Wave button 4-5 times quickly while including it to ensure the commands are registered.
- If excluding/including from the installation location, try it again within direct range of the hub. If the second try is successful, the original spot may be out of range.
