Including the ZAC36 to your SmartThings is an easy process with just a few steps! The Titan will fit on valves up to 1.25". Is your pipe larger? Reach out to us about an extension kit for the ZAC36 to accommodate larger pipes/valves.
The ZAC36 will display as a Fortrezz Valve out of the box, but the custom lua Edge driver is needed to access advanced settings: follow the instructions here to install the Edge driver.
Follow the steps below for including the Valve Actuator:
- Tap the plus icon in the home screen
- Tap Device
- Tap Scan QR code and point the camera to the QR code located on the back of the ZAC36 - if it's not reading the QR code, you should see an option to enter the pin code instead (these are the 5 DSK digits printed under the QR code on the back of the device)
- Follow the steps on the screen to complete the secure set-up
- The ZAC36 should include as the Fortrezz Valve if you're not using the custom device handler
- Name your device, and assign it to the room you'll be using the ZAC36 device in.
If the above process is not working for you, make sure you reset it first:
- Open your SmartThings app and locate your SmartThings hub under Devices. Tap the hub to see the device details.
-
Tap the three dots in the upper right hand corner and tap Settings
- Tap Z-Wave Utilities
- Tap Z-Wave Exclusion
- While the app is searching for a device, click the Z-Wave button on the device 3 times very quickly (it will be flashing and will sound 3 beeps to confirm communication)
- The app will indicate when the device is successfully removed. Tap Done
Now, try the alternative way to add your device to SmartThings:
- Tap the plus icon in the home screen
- Tap Device
- Tap "Scan nearby" (in the corner of the screen)
- While the app says "Scanning...", click the Z-Wave button on the device 3 times very quickly (LED indicator will start flashing)
- The app will indicate when the device connects - it may warn you that the device isn't set up securely at which point you can click on Secure Set-up and follow the prompts to scan the QR code or enter the DSK pin code to join the device to SmartThings
- Tap Edit to rename the device, and tap Done to save the name
- Tap Done to complete the setup
