How to Add Your ZEN51 Dry Contact Relay to Vera

Adding your ZEN51 Dry Contact Relay to Vera is quick and simple.

Below are the steps to pair your device:

  1. Power on the ZEN51
  2. In your Vera app, select the Devices tab. Next, click on the gray "+ Add Device" button
  3. Choose Generic Z-Wave Device from the device list
  4. Click the Z-Wave button on the relay 3 times as quickly as possible (the LED indicator will start flashing). Alternatively, if the relay is already installed, you can simply toggle the external switch connected to ZEN51 very quickly from off to on, so: "up-down, up-down, up-down."
  5. A new on/off switch will be created

*If you’re using an S2 hub, it will ask you to enter the DSK key or scan the QR code printed on the back to complete SmartStart inclusion.

ZEN51 Dry Contact Relay won't include?  First, exclude the unit from your Vera network. Next, try the inclusion instructions again. This behaves as a soft reset to assist with any configuration or inclusion issues. If the inclusion times out, begin the steps listed below:

  1. Tap the green Retry button in the bottom right corner of the app. This puts Vera into exclusion mode
  2. Exclude the ZEN51 by pressing the Z-Wave button 3 times as quickly as possible. Alternatively, if the relay is already installed, you can simply toggle the external switch connected to ZEN51 very quickly from off to on, so: "up-down, up-down, up-down."
  3. The LED indicator should start flashing. Vera will confirm the device was excluded in a message on top of the screen
  4. Retry the inclusion process once again. Vera will automatically return to the inclusion screen once exclusion is finalized.

*Updated Disclaimer: We've seen several issues with Vera hubs properly recognizing and integrating 700 & 800 series Z-Wave devices. It seems that the mios and Vera systems are no longer updated or supported for new features and Z-Wave libraries as they're replaced with the new Ezlo platform instead.

Unfortunately, we've had to remove Vera hubs from our compatibility lists for this reason. We're not able to modify devices to accommodate older discontinued systems like these as we need to follow the current DSK for our devices to pass Z-Wave certifications and work well with active platforms that are up to date. We apologize for any inconvenience.
