Which Z-Wave hub systems are compatible with my Scene Controller?
The ZEN32 was verified as compatible with the following Z-Wave systems:
- Z-Box Hub (recommended for all Zooz products)
- Alarm.com (scene triggers only, see programming instructions here) If you do not see the Remote option or the Scene option when programming, you will need to reach out to your individual security panel provider so they can push the update and allow the integration. Alarm.com integrated the device in November of 2024, but the final update might not be pushed by your individual Alarm.com dealer.
- Fibaro Home Center Lite
- Home Assistant (Z-Wave JS)
- HomeSeer (Z-Wave Plus or Z-Wave JS Front End)
- Homey (Zooz App for Homey)
- Hubitat (platform version 2.2.6 or higher)
- Indigo
- SmartThings Hub (custom device handler needed, find it here)
If you've tried the Scene Controller on a Z-Wave system other than those listed above, and confirmed it works well for you, please reach out and let us know! We'll be happy to include it on the compatibility list.
Will the device work with my alarm panel?
Alarm.com: Yes. Other alarm panels: No.
Most alarm panels generally support single switches, door locks, select thermostats, and other approved devices on their compatibility list. We recommend reaching out to your alarm panel provider to confirm compatibility and check for any upcoming device integrations.
Since the device follows the Z-Wave protocol and is Z-Wave certified, integration is dependent on your alarm panel provider. Unfortunately, while we can request integration, we don’t have control over whether the device is fully recognized—this would need to be supported by your alarm panel provider.

Can I connect the device directly to my Amazon Alexa, Google Home, or other smart speaker?
No. Smart speakers like Alexa or Google are not equipped with a Z-Wave chip and are not Z-Wave gateway controllers. Without a compatible Z-Wave hub, no Z-Wave products will not function correctly with Alexa or Google alone.
Smart speakers are integrated with certain Z-Wave hubs, like SmartThings or Hubitat, which is how you can have voice control of your Z-Wave devices from your smart speakers. You will be able to control the large button on the ZEN32 via the smart speaker, however, the small buttons of the Scene Controller won't be able to be controlled by voice since they don't show up as individual devices.
