Hard reset can assist with assorted configuration and communication issues.
Try a hard reset if your dimmer is not responsive to Z-Wave commands, especially if you already gave exclusion a try without success.
- Press and hold the lower paddle for 10 seconds or more until the LED indicator starts blinking.
- Release the paddle and immediately after, tap the lower paddle 5 times to complete the reset.
- The LED indicator will flash blue 3 times and turn red for 3 seconds to confirm a successful reset.
Just remember that hard reset will erase all custom settings and recorded activity, returning the device to factory defaults.
Once you've reset the dimmer, try including it to your Z-Wave hub again to see if that resolved the issue.
