An “offline” status in Hubitat could mean your ZEN76 switch is out of range or hasn’t configured properly. Running a Z-Wave Network Repair may solve the problem.

First, you’ll want to verify your Hubitat platform is updated to the latest version. Then you can follow these steps to run the repair on your network connections.

The process is quick and easy:

  1. Open Hubitat in your Internet browser

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Click on Z-Wave Details

  4. Click on Repair Z-Wave

Once the process successfully finishes, Hubitat should display a "Z-Wave Network Repair finished" confirmation. You can then perform another inclusion to try and add the switch to your hub again.

If your switch still displays “offline” after the repair, you can give these steps a try:

  • Perform an exclusion before re-adding the switch. Configuration may not have been successful during the first inclusion and excluding it first can help the device develop a faster route to communicate with the hub.

  • Add a non-battery powered Z-Wave device, or dedicated Z-Wave signal repeater, between the switch and hub, if you have one available. It could help the hub communicate easier with the ZEN76. You’ll need to do another Z-Wave Repair for the new device to be recognized as part of the network and for the hub to find the new communication route with the switch.

  • Install the switch closer to the hub in case its current location is out of range. Exclude and pair the device with Hubitat again for the communication route to be created from the new location.

If your ZEN76 switch is still having trouble communicating with the hub, reach out to us!
