This is product is discontinued and replaced with the ZEN73. What does that mean?
Let's try excluding the switch first. You can exclude a Z-Wave device even if it was never properly included since exclusion acts as a reset.
Start by trying to include the switch to Vera again. It should be included as a Generic Z-Wave device. Once inclusion times out, try the steps below:
1. Tap the green Retry button in the bottom right corner of the app - this will put Vera into exclusion mode.
2. Toggle the switch DOWN 3 times quickly.
3. Once exclusion goes through, Vera will automatically go back to the inclusion screen and start searching for the switch.
4. Toggle the switch UP 3 times quickly to include it.
If exclusion and re-inclusion just isn't working out, here are some other ways to tackle the issue:
- Let's give exclusion another go. It's always possible the exclusion commands from the first attempt weren't registered correctly.
- Try the inclusion process again, only this time instead of toggling 3 times, toggle the switch 6 or 7 times at least as quickly as possible. This can help make sure the commands go through.
- For those of you referring to the older version of the manual, there's a mistake in the inclusion section. You shouldn't try including the device by toggling the switch in an up-down-up motion; this is incorrect. Instead make sure to perform the action as shown in step 3 above. The online and print documentation have been corrected as of February 2018, but this tip is for users who happen to have the older version of the manual.
- If possible, try bringing the Vera within direct range of the switch if you were at a large distance the first time. If you have a hand-held secondary controller, this would be the time to bring it out!
- And if you find that your switch is connected but it's not responded to remote commands, here's your go-to resource for troubleshooting range and connectivity issues on Vera.
