Connectivity issues got you down? If you have included the ZEN54 0-010V Dimmer to SmartThings but it's showing offline, it may be a range or connectivity issue.
The best place to start is with the Network Repair feature in the SmartThings app to help refresh your mesh network connections.
Steps for Network Repair below:
- Open your SmartThings app and locate your SmartThings hub under Devices. Tap the hub to see the device details.
-
Tap the three dots in the upper right hand corner and tap Settings
- Tap Z-Wave Utilities
- Tap Repair Z-Wave Network
- Tap Start Repair
Wait until you see the "Z-Wave Network Repair finished" message before sending any commands to your ZEN54 0-10V Dimmer (up to 15 minutes). When this is finished, try to include the device back into your network.
If Network Repair doesn't help:
- Exclude it from within direct range of the hub
- Re-include it from the same range
If you're now able to include the device successfully and the connection is steady, this points to either a range or interference issue. Large furniture, metal, stone and certain glass elements can affect Z-Wave signal. You can try adding signal repeating devices between the hub and the desired location to strengthen the Z-Wave signal. Any non-battery powered Z-Wave device can be used as a signal repeating device.
Try again to exclude and re-include the device from the installation location directly. It's possible that SmartThings has not yet found the most efficient communication route to the ZEN54 0-10V Dimmer. This can occasionally happen when you include a device near the hub and then move it away to be installed.
