This is product is discontinued and replaced with the ZEN74. What does that mean?
Inclusion issues are usually no big deal. Here's where to start:
The ZEN24 dimmer will work with SmartThings out of the box, but we recommend you add the lua Edge driver to access the advanced settings. If you're seeing inclusion issues with your dimmer, try excluding the device from the network and giving it another go. Exclusion is a kind of reset that can help with a variety of inclusion and configuration issues. Devices don't need to be included properly to be able to be excluded. Take a look at the exclusion steps below:
- Open your SmartThings app and locate your SmartThings hub under Devices. Tap the hub to see the device details.
-
Tap the three dots in the upper right hand corner and tap Settings
- Tap Z-Wave Utilities
- Tap Z-Wave Exclusion
- While the app is searching for a device, toggle the switch DOWN 3 times very quickly
- The app will indicate when the device is successfully removed. Tap Done
Once exclusion is completed, you can try including the switch again using the process shown here.
If you're still unable to include your dimmer after exclusion, here are some alternative troubleshoots that may also solve the problem:
- Try the exclusion process one more time. Sometimes commands from the first run aren't registered correctly, so it's worth a try.
- Try adding a Z-Wave signal repeater (any non-battery powered Z-Wave device) between the dimmer and hub to see if that helps communication. If you have a hand-held secondary hub, try using it to include the dimmer.
- Try the inclusion process again, only this time instead of tapping 3 times, tap the paddle 6 or 7 times at least as quickly as possible. This can help make sure the commands go through.
- And if you find that your dimmer is connected but it's not responded to remote commands, check out these tips for troubleshooting connectivity.
But if you're still seeing issues with the exclusion/inclusion process no matter what you try, please let us know! Our team is happy to help.
