Every now and again you might encounter a Z-Wave device that will not include to your Z-Wave hub. The best place to start is with excluding the device. Exclusion before inclusion? Yep! It works!

The exclusion process acts as a soft reset and can be done even if you haven't paired the ZSE43 to HomeSeer or another Z-Wave network before.

Zooz products are officially integrated with the Z-Wave Plus and the Z-Wave JS Front-End of HomeSeer. If you're experiencing issues with accessing the advanced settings of your device or the unit not properly displaying, we would recommend first , then excluding and re-including your device to your network in order for it to be recognized correctly.updating to the Z-Wave Plus or the Z-Wave JS Front-End

Here are the steps for excluding the ZSE43 Sensor from HomeSeer:

  1. In the HomeSeer UI, click the "Plugins;" from the drop-down menu, select "Z-Wave."
  2. Select "Remove Device."
  3. You will be taken to a new page; click "Continue" to start the exclusion process on the hub.
  4. Click the Z-Wave button on the ZSE43 3 times very quickly (the LED indicator will start flashing).
  5. HomeSeer should confirm the device was removed. Finalize by clicking "Finish."

Once the exclusion process is successfully finalized, try including the device to HomeSeer.

Here are some additional troubleshoots if the above did not help:

  • Give the exclusion process another try! It's possible the command from the first run wasn't registered correctly.
  • When excluding more than once, and not receiving confirmation it was removed, try clicking the Z-Wave button 4-5 times quickly. This can help make sure the commands go through.
  • Try bringing the device within direct range of the hub and excluding and including the device from that location. If the device excludes/includes without issue, the target location may be out of range.
