Try these troubleshooting steps if your ZEN75 Heavy Duty Switch is unavailable, shows as offline, or is unresponsive to commands via HomeSeer.

Interference from large furniture, thick walls, and metal elements can reduce the range for any Z-Wave device. The actual range depends on your home's specific structure and the strength of your mesh network. If you experience connectivity issues, we recommend first healing your HomeSeer network, also known as rebuilding routes. This function refreshes the connections between your hub and devices, allowing the hub to find the most efficient route to each device.

  1. Click on the Plugins drop-down menu on the upper left hand side of the interface.

  2. Click on Z-Wave Plus

  3. Select Advanced Functions.

  4. From the first drop down menu, select the name of the Z-wave network you are repairing/rebuilding routes.

  5. From the second drop down menu, select Rebuild All Routes.

  6. Click Continue. The network repair will occur; remember to manually wake any battery powered devices to complete the rebuild.

Here are some other troubleshooting steps to try if the above doesn't help:

  1. Remove and re-add the switch in case the hub hasn't found the best communication route to it.

  2. Add a Z-Wave signal repeater between the switch and hub if you are connecting via the mesh. It can be any Z-Wave device that doesn't rely on battery power. An extra repeater can help strengthen and stabilize connectivity. We recommend healing your network once more after adding the repeater.

  3. If you can, bring the Z-Wave hub closer to switch and try excluding and re-including it again. If you're able to exclude and include without issue and the switch stays connected, then the switch may be out of the mesh range or surrounded by a lot of interferences.

  4. Make sure your switch box is not made of metal. Metal is really effective at disrupting Z-Wave signals and it can prevent signals from being sent or received. If possible, try moving the hub closer or adding a Z-Wave signal repeater between the switch and the hub.

  5. Try adding the switch as a Z-Wave Long Range device. You will need to have a 700 or 800 series Z-Wave stick and be running the Z-Wave JS Front End integration for HomeSeer. Z-Wave Long Range inclusion steps can be found here.
