Does your ZEN75 Heavy Duty Switch not enter inclusion mode? Check out the two recommended processes below, which resolve most inclusion or configuration issues.

If your ZEN75 has never been included to any hub, you'll want to factory reset the device first.

HOW TO FACTORY RESET THE ZEN75

  • Press and hold the lower paddle for 10 seconds or more until the LED indicator starts blinking.
  • Release the paddle and immediately after, tap the lower paddle 5 times to complete the reset.
  • The LED indicator will flash blue 3 times and turn red for 3 seconds to confirm a successful reset.

Hard reset will erase all custom settings and recorded activity, returning the device to factory defaults.

Once the switch's LED indicator confirms a successful reset, try including it back to your Z-Wave network again to see if it works as expected.

HOW TO EXCLUDE THE ZEN75 FROM YOUR Z-WAVE HUB:

Exclusion can be done at any time, even if the ZEN75 has not been included to this hub. We always recommend giving it a try, as the switch may have partially included on a previous inclusion attempt.

  • Bring your Z-Wave hub as close to the switch as possible
  • Put your Z-Wave controller into exclusion mode
  • Tap the lower paddle of the switch 3 times very quickly to finalize the exclusion process; the LED indicator will begin flashing blue
  • The device will disappear from your controller's device list

If that didn't work, here are some troubleshoots we find helpful:

  • Simply try the exclusion and factory reset processes again! It's possible the commands from the first run weren't registered correctly.

  • If possible, try bringing the hub within direct range of the switch if you were at a large distance the first time. If you have a hand-held secondary controller, this would be the time to bring it out!

  • Try the exclusion process again, only this time instead of tapping 3 times, tap the paddle 6 or 7 times at least as quickly as possible. This can help make sure the commands go through.

  • If you find that your switch is connected but it's not responded to remote commands, check out these tips for troubleshooting connectivity.

After exclusion is completed, give inclusion another try to see if that helped the issue.
