This is product is discontinued and replaced with ZSE11.
If your ZSE40 4-in-1 sensor’s status is showing as “offline”, it may indicate an issue of range or configuration. A Z-Wave Network Repair may help resolve the issue.
You’ll want to start by checking that your Hubitat platform is up-to-date. Once you’ve checked, you can use the steps below to run the repair which will refresh your Z-Wave mesh network connections:
-
Open Hubitat in your Internet browser
-
Go to Settings
-
Click on Z-Wave Details
-
Click on Repair Z-Wave
A message confirming "Z-Wave Network Repair finished" should pop-up to indicate a successful repair. Then you can use these inclusion steps to try and add your 4-in-1 to Hubitat.
If your sensor is still having trouble displaying correctly in Hubitat, you can try these other troubleshooting steps:
- Your sensor may not have configured correctly on the first try. You can see if excluding the ZSE40 from Hubitat and reconnecting it fixes the issue. It acts as a soft reset and can help the devices create a faster communication route.
- If you have one available, you can add a Z-Wave signal repeater, or any non-battery powered Z-Wave device, to the network to eliminate any issues of range or interference. You would want to install it between the hub and sensor and then run another Z-Wave Repair for the hub to update it’s path of communication.
- The sensor could be having trouble communicating with Hubitat from its current location. You can also mount the sensor in a location closer to the hub in case it is out range or is in an area surrounded by a lot of metal or glass elements. After installing it in a new location, unpair the device with these exclusion steps before pairing it again for the hub to find the new communication route to the sensor.
